Several of the local Taco Bells run by the same guy just changed the way they answer the drive thru. At first I thought it was just a polite person on the mic but I got the same polite greeting from different people at several places. I caught myself saying thank you after they told me the total each time.
I have been to many drive thrus and there were a few times that I inspected the food closely before it was eaten based on the way the person on the mic sounded. I did get a paper grill receipt balled up in the middle of a burger at one place and I'm pretty sure someone lost a job when I brought that burger back and handed it to the manager. It wasn't a register receipt, it was one that prints up next to the grill and only the person by the grill could have put it in the burger before wrapping it.
Long story short, a good attitude will get more repeat business and word of mouth advertsiing than just the product.
