but the man gave you a perfectly good answer, and when you ask if they have a "right" to charge you a restocking fee, there's going to be some opinion forthcoming.

I know you don't want any opinions, but mine is the same as Pete's -- the company didn't do anything wrong, UPS didn't do anything wrong, and I suspect there is some kind of instruction on the "tried-to-deliver" door hanger in the form of a number to call, an option to pick it up at the UPS office, or whatever.  Just because the option isn't available online doesn't mean you can't get your package.

I venture to guess it says something about "restocking fee" in the fine print on the company's web site.
