I recently placed an order through newegg.com for an Acer laptop. A delivery attempt was made yesterday, but because the attempt was made so late, and because New Egg required a signature by me, personally, (refusing to let my apartment manager accept it for me} I didn't get it yesterday. But now I am having second thoughts because of some bad reviews concerning Acer's quality control. Here's the problem: New Egg says that they do not accept returns on laptops, although they will exchange if one is determined to be defective -- 7-day window on this. They also state on their web site that there is a 15% restocking fee on returns. It seems they would have to give me a refund on a laptop that I refused delivery on (assuming I can even have UPS arrive when I am at home), but do they have the right to charge me a restocking fee in such a case?
