This guy isn't a customer. The problem with thinking of him as a customer is you risk alienating real customers.

For example, I refuse to shop at compusa. I bought a power supply there and the salesman told me the best way to find out if it would fit was to take it home and try to install it.

Twenty minutes later the same SOB charged me a 15% restocking fee. The guy gave me my 85% refund and then the security guard escorted me out. I got my two dollars worth by screaming! I know it's petty but when they treat me like a crap, I am not going to take it gently.

I also refuse to go to MacDonalds because years ago I went through the drive through and got a big mac. It only had one peice of meat. I went back and the manager accused me of eating the other one. He accused me of lying.

After I tried jamming the defective big mac down his throat I left him lying on the floor and went to Burger King.

Now, I am no longer a berserker, and don't recommend others become violent either, but I refuse to let anyone accuse me of lying.

Both of these examples show the downside of dealing with refunds in an emotional manner. Both of these companies lost my business for ever

It's a waste of time and energy to do anything except process the refund and move on.
