The fact that Don Alm avoids any and all inquiries about the outcome of his Katrina concoction is enough for me to think something is wrong. There is no reason to dodge it if everything went well or if he just decided to scrap the idea and gave money back to people. There is no reason for his dodging the issue, unless of course, he has something to hide.
People can say that it is nobody's business, but that is not true. The man had a program that involved the public giving money to him to do something socially responsible with. That is a public matter, not a private matter.
The truth will come out sooner or later because it is just beginning to unfold and the odds, so far, are not in his favor, just as I suspected.
I am not telling you what to do, MaaMaw, but I think you'd be wise to not come across as trying to even give him the benefit of the doubt as that seems to associate you with him and that can't be a good thing. Even if you happen to know he is a trustworthy man, I'd just forget about it, if I were you or any board owner that relies on integrity in order to maintain your credibility. Especially since you are the owner of a scam busting forum. You are expected to be at least somewhat an authority on shady folks and who to stay away from. If you are wrong about Don Alm and word gets out then you could really damage your reputation because although people make mistakes, this one is a no-brainer, IMO. And to be wrong on a no-brainer is not something that is expected of authorities on any subject.
