I am sorry to hear that you've had medical problems. I hope there are things you can do to stop that happening again.
Christine, the best 'advice' I can give you may sound harsh, but it is the kindest and most honest advice I can think of as a fellow aspiring home worker:
Firstly, don't get your hopes up or RELY on the Internet for an income, not at this stage. I know of people who have been trying to make money this way for months and after a LOT of effort and they are still just breaking even. Some are even operating at a loss. That sounds like something you want to avoid.
Unfortunately, there are no guarantees and almost everything you do will require some initial cost on your part.
I say almost everything. There is one thing you could try and that is to start your own blog. If you enjoy writing and have an area of interest (that is not overly exposed) this could be an option. Perhaps you could even focus on the condition you suffer from and provide information to the public on this topic.

If you don't know what a blog is, it is basically a web site which you can update easily and as frequently as you like.

The way you could possibly make some money from a blog is through Google Adsense, other advertising, affiliate programs and even donations.
At this stage I don't know enough about it to offer any solid advice, and am not sure how well a free blogger site will fair with the search engines or how searchers find them, but there are ways to optimise even the free ones.
