You sound *exactly* like me!
That's how I got desperate and lost so much to business "opportunities" (well, to be fair, a few were legitimate but not for me).
I never wanted to be the breadwinner at all. I wanted to live just slightly out in the sticks and have a sort of mini-farm and a few kids and live like Lassie's mom did. (Sometimes I think I'd rather be Caroline Ingles, but I digress.)
Instead, I ended up in a business I created and hated with a passion after a few years -- with my first daughter sandwiched between deadlines and my second daughter heading down that same path 17 years later.

Me too (different company) (mom, not dad) -- but I didn't stop there. I kept doing it and doing it and doing it. Of course I couldn't ask to be bailed out again, so I just kept digging deeper and deeper til only my nostrils were sticking out, and they were filling up fast.
YES, there is something out there for you!! But when you find it, you can't expect it to be easy. You might work harder than you ever have -- but on your own terms.
For me, the deciding factor would be an absence of customer deadlines. Now that I'm completely out of the medical transcription business, I am in heaven. Don't misunderstand me -- I am in an **extremely** serious financial pickle, and I might have to go back to typing in two months -- but the freedom from deadlines is SO thrilling that it's hard to remember what trouble I'm in.
Just wanted to give you a pep talk.
