Steve, Thank you for your response, but I don't think you got the point. I do NOT expect Sprint to pay my roaming charges "every month" when I make or receive a call when roaming. We have been with Sprint several years and our billed roaming charges are usually zero and occasionally anywhere from 0 to $2 or $3 in a given month and I have NEVER disputed ANY charge on my bill until now. I DO expect not to have roaming charges billed when I didn't make or receive any calls when roaming and that's exactly what they did. I am well aware of how it works when roaming. The screen shows an "R" and if I choose to go ahead with the call and accept the roaming charges, I press "1" and continue with the call. If I choose not to accept roam, I press "END" and do not make or take the call. I have done both, but I RARELY accept to roam so when I do, I am aware of it and remember it and expect to see it on the bill. All but $2.40 of the billed roaming charges were on my phone, not on the other 4 phones in our plan. And I KNOW I did not accept any roaming charges. I especially know on the call I made to my sister for over 30 minutes, it was not roaming because I remember making the call, and even if I didn't remember it, I know I would not have made the call if it had been roaming. It was strictly a social call of no urgent or pressing nature. The $2.40 was on my husband's phone and he was "pretty sure" he did not accept any roaming charges, but since he was not 100% positive, (he uses his phone a lot more than I use mine), I will pay that charge. I have since taken our phones to our local Sprint store and had them checked. They did not find anything not working properly. And, I purposely went to a place and attempted to make a call that I've done in the past that was roam. Sure enough the "R" showed on the screen and to continue with the call, I had to press "1". I understand my plan entirely and I know no roaming minutes are included. I really did not appreciate the rep trying to bribe me into adding the roaming plan---"I will credit all the roaming charges if you sign up for the roaming plan". Dirty business tactic, IMHO. Why would I sign up for a plan at an additional $15 per month, "I think", she says, when I rarely spend $2 or $3 for roaming in a given month? I have not lost or misplace my user's guide, thank you anyway.
Regards,
Tanya Smith

PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT. It has been done before, but never successfully. In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace. NEWS FLASH: I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday. I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish. I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?). I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!" Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures. In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact. And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!). |
