My brain muddled this into a ball with "computerlearningctr.org" that was brought up in another thread a couple of days ago.
> The income claims are insane.
There actually aren't any income claims on homedatatypers.com (well that's a first!).
I don't dispute whether the income statement is correct -- I have no clue -- but if I had to guess, I would say it is from selling the $99 "How To" product rather than actually placing ads (i.e., doing "data entry").
If so, that would be extremely misleading -- but it isn't so different from people who make a few sales of their pet care products then write an ebook telling other people how to make a fortune on the internet, sell a bzillion of them, and claim they made their money selling their kitty litter.
But the fact is, there aren't any statements at all which say "you can make this much money."
> As is the effort required.
What bothers me most is that they equate this with "data entry." No doubt that's what you're doing -- entering data into the pay-per-click advertising form (and also some free advertising sites, according to the FAQ) -- but I'm sorry. Wannabe stay-home moms think of data entry as sitting at a computer feeding in the "data" somebody gives you.
But it clearly says, "This is not just traditional data entry work."
They covered their bases, so you can't yell "SCAM!" there.
But the next line says, "Even though you can make good money doing that..." -- so it is *extremely* misleading.
> Plus they conveniently forget to mention that you have to pay to
> advertise.
OOOPS -- No, they did NOT forget to mention that.
My boo-boo.
> Same old Home Typist scam with a twist.
Not exactly.
Again, don't be misled into thinking this is simple "data entry." IT IS NOT. And even though it says you can make good money "doing that," I don't believe (although I do not have proof) that *any* part of this system has to do with "traditional data entry."
But this particular site does NOT make blatant income claims (it IMPLIES them with that earnings statement, which makes me pukey).
It DOES tell you it involves paying for ads.
And it gives you a video showing you exactly what you'll be doing, so you can't say you didn't know.
I think it's going to be hard to yell "SCAM!" on this one.
But I do believe it's misleading by virtue of the fact that it (1) claims to be "data entry" and (2) I venture to guess that income statement is from selling this program, not from "doing data entry" even by their definition.
Lots of people are selling "How To" guides that show you how to make money with Pay Per Click advertising -- but The Good Guys aren't calling it "data entry."
Luv,
MaaMaw

PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT. It has been done before, but never successfully. In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace. NEWS FLASH: I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday. I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish. I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?). I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!" Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures. In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact. And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!). |
