Thanks for the ideas, I posted post then I lost it.
The jist is I did make a hollywood contact on my second day of filming, I will be a part of a fundraiser that doesn't start until late June or early July and wrap up in the fall with a big gala with lots of hollywood people. I need my gallery owner to help me with the other artists in getting donations of art. All items are going to be auctioned world wide on a special auction on EBAY. Right now Randy Travis, Justin Timberlake and Billy Bob Thorton are just a few people donating, as well as movie studios who are donating props and such.
Waner Brothers were great to this town and the way they are handling the movie they are making. So I will play off of this and get our small town, but talented artists noticed by influencial people who can afford to buy it.
I am better now, I know things will work out in the long run. I was just so shocked when I got the letter. I think she has lost money 3 years in a row and this is her last ditch effort to save her business. But I think it will work against her. She really is a great lady but this just floored me.
Thanks for all the ideas, some I have already tried and they just don't work in this town. I am hoping being involved with the fundraiser will help get me out into the light. They have seen my work and were impressed. They want me to travel to Atlanta in June to get together and start planning. The movie will still be filming there and that is where the person that started this is. The other person I will be working with lives in Arkansas in a large art community and owns a gallery, he is passing my name around there. So there is hope, if any one would be interested in more details about getting your work in the auction let me know and I will contact you when the time comes. Thanks again, Carla

PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT. It has been done before, but never successfully. In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace. NEWS FLASH: I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday. I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish. I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?). I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!" Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures. In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact. And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!). |
