I appreciate the good answers and the help on this one. It's an excellent idea and one that I'll implement. I haven't sold anything on eBay lately, and my current location makes it almost impossible to sell physical goods (you can't use the military postal system to run a business), but it's definitely something that I'll use eventually.
Regarding feedback: I *ALWAYS* check it and use it as a part of my subjective evaluation before bidding. I once thought otherwise -- until I won an auction for a hard drive. Suddenly the seller tried to do a disappearing act, leaving me (and several other individuals) without our money and goods. Thankfully, using some of my research skills, I was able to track the seller down -- and he lived just across The River from me near St. Louis (I was living in Illinois at the time). I sent him an e-mail, telling him that he had 24 hours to refund my money before I drove across the river to turn in some evidence to his police department, including his name, address, phone number, and eBay information.
I got my refund. And I still should have turned him in (and regret that I did not to help discourage further behavior).
