I'm going to ask a very basic question here: When you saved the file from notepad, did you do a File, Save AS, and then type "whateveritsis.htm"?
If you did a 'save' and then typed "xxx.htm" it saved it as "xxx.htm.TXT" and won't ever read it as a web page.

Actually, it doesn't count what XsitePro is... if they were telling you to do it in Notepad (which is really a time-waster for novices, IMHO) then it ended up as a TXT file.
I think you'd be a lot happier with a WYSIWYG web page editor. Leslie does these pages in notepad, and many people use it, but it's less frustrating (IMHO) to use an editor where you can work directly on the web pages and see them as they progress, rather than guessing your way through code and switching back and forth between the graphic view and the code.
