A vast number of them haven't even read the ebook they're promoting, so the LAST person you'd want to go to for advice would be them. I can't tell you how many ads we've nuked off here where someone has a site claiming that they're a marketing guru or that they're reselling a book about how to make vast website profits... and they show up HERE to ask us how to market the book.
I'm not quite unkind enough to say to them, "well, you're reselling that FABULOUS ebook -- so have you read it and if you have and you're following it and it doesn't work, are your ethics so dead that you'd sell garbage to us?"
Mind you, I've THOUGHT it.
In many cases, the original offers sell it to you at a ridiculous price that includes "branding" -- so it will appear as if you wrote the book.
In other cases, the resale package is old and the original writer has abandoned the ebook and the website and those links don't work.
My thoughts are that it would be better for someone to run a "bookstore" (perhaps even a niche one) with the original authors' names shown, and software that relates to the ebooks, and please (please please please) do a niche other than "guru guides to marketing." There's zillions of them out there. It's a crowded niche and there's better fields to explore.

Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.
