I made the decision to pack up and leave right after we went into Iraq and right around the time Korea announced they could nuke the west coast. We were surrounded by military bases. Of course, that was secondary. The main reason was that we were also surrounded by gangs. We lived in a nice neighborhood, and one year they raided a meth lab in the garage next door to the left, and another year some gangbangers went in and trashed the house for sale on the right -- and that was *before* the killings that finished me off.
Funny/strange: We left "a prime target" and found out later that we moved 100 miles from the only place in the U.S. that was actually bombed during WWII. Ain't life a hoot? (yes, it's true).... (Actually, the story we read was that a freighter had been bombed in Humboldt Bay just 10 miles from here, so of course I got on the net to verify it like I do everything and discovered it was actually Humboldt Bay in New Guinea, bwahahahahahaha!..... but let's not nitpick)

Me too. My money situation has *never* been worse -- but I wouldn't go back if someone offered me a million bucks. (Well actually I would... just long enough to get it, then I'd come back here.) (Thought I should clarify that in case anybody reading this was about to offer me a million bucks, bwahahahaha!).
