Aah, the first moon landing. The night that Neil Armstrong first stepped on the moon was my first night ever at Boy Scout camp. They herded all of us into the dining room (must have been a few hundred of us) and we all watched it on two tiny black and white television sets.
I remember that one of the camp leaders got up afterwards and gave what he thought must have been a memorable speech. Who knows -- maybe I was the only person daydreaming after watching Neil step out on the moon? I don't remember a word of it -- I was wondering what it took to become an astronaut (the answer: more math than I cared to learn).
And now our country has gone from watching a true hero that walked on the moon to watching a "something" that occasionally does a moonwalk. The only reason I'd care about a potential comeback is if a niche market was created that was worth marketing to.
