They're "real companies" -- true, many "real companies" go belly-up and some are closed down in disgrace, but still they are not comparable to "faceless promises" on the internet, which in my mind are even more shaky than, say, someone you see each week at the grocery store asking you to put your money on a "ladder" such as this. There is nothing backing it but promises.
Funny, I saw it a lot more clearly in this one than I did in E-Currency Trading. I thought E-Currency Trading was providing a genuinely "needed" service. This is basically the same thing (I think, but like you, I don't understand the details) -- but somehow the "ladder" concept got through to me.

Absolutely.

But your money buys a product, not a promise. It's the promise that worries me -- and the length of TIME it takes for that promise to be fulfilled.

I agree, and I'm not trying to bash it -- but since it came up, and since you are a trusted FIBer and people will follow you (I am not implying that you were trying to promote it, I mean it came up as part of a discussion) -- I feel it is important to point out the HUMONGOUS dangers.

I see where they're attracting people with their honesty and apparent ethics. The whole site is built on that -- but no one has a clue if it's real or just their way of pitching their product. People can be anything they want to be on the net.

And a helluva lot less than some people spend on a single seminar where they then turn around and spend another bundle. If you believe in it and can afford to lose the $520, the only other thing you're risking is a huge disappointment.

Right -- but you need to add two more words: "and honest."
"If Kim Inman is correct AND HONEST, I will have..."
You have only his word that he is and you don't know him from a box of Cracker Jacks. That's my problem. I can't begin to discuss "the business model" or work the numbers and figure out if what he says is even possible. It's way over my head.
But from what little I do understand, I can see he's going to walk away with a bloody fortune if he decides to walk away -- and you are aware of the risk and have decided you can afford to lose the money, but what worries me is the people who are pouring thousands into this. Are they aware of the risk??
Good luck with it, Sandi!
Luv,
MaaMaw

PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT. It has been done before, but never successfully. In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace. NEWS FLASH: I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday. I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish. I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?). I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!" Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures. Although we may, from time to time, monitor or review discussions, postings and the like on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, we are under no obligation to do so. You are likewise prohibited from posting any false claims against any company or individual. We will fully cooperate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing us to disclose the identity of anyone posting any such information or materials. If you cannot accept or agree with the terms of service for this website and discussion board, you are advised not to post on this board. In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact. And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!). |
