I also sent a message to Gov. Bush.
Interestingly enough, about 14 years ago, a four-year old in our church fell into a pool and nearly died. After weeks of hospitalization, he came home propped up in a wheel chair, drooling and unable to speak or eat. After intensive and extensive rehab, he now walks (not gracefully, but on his own without any props or assitance) has total control of bodily functions, feeds himself, takes the bus alone to school, attends the church youth group functions, etc. The part of his brain that received the most damage involves speach so he does not talk verbally, but he communicates well using ASL. Maybe if Terri Schaivo were to be granted the same opportunities for therapy she too might improve as much?
And what about the woman who had been "out of it" for 20 years and woke up asking her mother for make-up!!!!!
