If you're coming in late, here is my original post.
If you're offended by this or don't want to hear it, then close this message now because you're about to hear more of it. (Please forgive me everybody. I know this is a business board, but I think I might go stark raving insane if I don't talk about this.)
It seems the hearing for Terri Schiavo went on so long that the judge said he can't possibly rule on it today.
That's fair.
He said he will rule by 5 p.m. Friday -- so she gets a 48-hour stay of execution so to speak.
How are her parents supposed to live through this kind of stress? How can anybody live through it??
They will.
They're obviously strong people, and they say they're "elated" with 48 hours because "it seems like six years."
I think it's good the judge is taking extra time to decide, but I have two itty bitty problems:
1.
Shouldn't the judge be REQUIRED to visit the woman before he makes his decision? Why isn't he doing that? God forbid he should see first-hand that she isn't a vegetable.
2.
Doesn't something like this warrant PERSONAL delivery of the decision? Eye contact even? FOR GODSAKE!! The judge said there will be NO further hearings. He will deliver his decision "to the interested parties".....
BY FAX!!!
I don't care what your political views are. Picture yourself, as a parent, standing at the fax machine on Friday watching it come through line by line...
Will it say this 15 years of hell is over and you can take your daughter home?
Or will it say the living, breathing, smiling, laughing (yes LAUGHING!), crying, saliva-swallowing, HEALTHY daughter you love is going to be legally murdered in a horrible, slow, painful way by people who don't give a rat's ass about her, starting tomorrow??
Oh god, this is making me sick.
