I agree whole heartedly that it is vital to our success as entrepreneurs to live below our means. Many business fail for no other reason than the owners were not willing to sacrifice lifestyle at critical moments in the development of the business. Put another way, feed a business for a season, it'll feed you for life.
However, I find what I can best describe as the "cheap" lifestyle a major turn off. It's certainly not why I went into business for myself. I went into business for myself in order to improve the odds that I'll enjoy financial independence and simultaneously a higher standard of living.
Frankly, if I cared nothing for lifestyle, I'd go back to my job. It was low stress, I worked fewer hours, and had far less responsibility as many of you well know from having been there yourselves.
There's wisdom in the post, but there's also a little wisdom in setting your sights just a tad higher.
And frankly, an automobile with a damaged frame is dangerous-- even deadly. Then again, I know some people with the cheap mindset who would already have blurted out by now-- ooohhh death!!! Think of the money I'll save being dead!!!!
You gotta live a little, too. I never understood the "excitement" some people get out of scrimping by all the time.
