Yepper, I agree also. What a wake up call. 3 years ago I blew my back out just straightening out the chain on the dog. I found out that I had 5 herniated disks which one had to be repaired quickly. Needless to say my income went from $55,000 a year to zilch real quick. It took me a year and a half just to get the disability retirement and social security disability going. 2 years ago my wife was diagnosed with brain cancer and has been off work also every since. We are now working on her disability also. Needless to say one can live very well within their means. We right now do not have very much but what we do have is all paid for. I am on my third $500 junker and it runs real well. My truck may be old but it does everything I need for it to do. Since I do all the cooking I make almost everything from scratch. Right now I feed a family for 9 for around $300 a month. The food may not look like much but it is hot and tastefull. Anyway the wife and I are working on a business from home that we can do together. It is right now breaking even and we hope to be turning a profit early next year. We feel that we are very lucky and are thanking our good fortune for everything.
