In Response To: Re: Recommended Autoresponders (Kim)

Aweber is great but the $53 per month fee was taking a large bite out of my grocery money.

So I went looking for the software and purchased Autoresponseplus for $199 and had it professionally installed for $80 but received a $50 refund because I used there recommended installer.

After the above post I decided to ask some more questions of my hosting company Lunarpages which I am currently paying $27.00 with all the added items I choose.

I was visiting a board when someone asked about autoresponders and this is the information that was posted about Autoresponeplus:

Autoresponseplus.com - $199 plus hosting. You can load in an unlimited amount of leads as long as your server can handle it. If you go with plain old hosting, you will be limited to the amount the hosting will allow you to send. You will also be risking your hosting by emailing with no IP addresses. If you pay for a dedicated server, you open up a lot more options for yourself. Depending on how powerful your server is will determine how many you can send. It has a lot of other really cool features for helping you automate your business with trigger words in your email box sending automatic replies etc. Even delivers to AOL.

I have sever questions regarding information in that post.

1. You can load in an unlimited amount of leads as long as your server can handle it. Are you my server or just my hosting company? I enter the internet using earthlink, are they my server? How do I know what my server can handle?

Lunarpages reply: We are both your hosting company, and your "server", meaning your wwebsite is being hosted from our servers. Earthlink is you ISP, or Internet Service Provider. What exactly is meant by a "lead" in this context? We need a little more information on this question to better answer it.

2. If you go with plain old hosting, you will be limited to the amount the hosting will allow you to send. How do I know what this is and when I hit the limit?

Lunarpages reply: We do not limit in the sense that you can send a certain amount of mail, but we do have a loose limit of 600-800 emails per hour. This is to prevent server degredation, and we monitor the server load more than the number of emails being sent.

3. You will also be risking your hosting by emailing with no IP addresses. So what am I to do about this!!!!!

Lunarpages reply: You can purchase a Dedicated IP address if you wish. A dedicated IP is not included in the cost of your hosting. We can provide you with a dedicated IP for $2.50 per month billable in one lump for the remainder of your term.

4. If you pay for a dedicated server, you open up a lot more options for yourself. Is this what I have with Lunarpages?

Lunarpages reply: No, you signed up for shared hosting as stated in your agreement form, and we do not provide dedicated hosting.

5. Depending on how powerful your server is will determine how many you can send. How does this affect me?

Lunarpages reply: Again as mentioned above, we do have a loose limit on the number of emails being sent. Please read theprevious statement regarding this.

I just got picked up by Google and I don't want to get kicked off because I do not know what I am doing.

Thank You in advance for helping me.

NOTICE TO SCUMBEEZLES
(you know who you are... you scream "Foul!" when the truth comes out)
PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT.  It has been done before, but never successfully.  In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace.
NEWS FLASH:  I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday.  I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish.  I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?).  I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!"
Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

By posting messages and/or content on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, you give permission for Lesley Fountain/Friends In Business/Shoestring Success Publications to display, distribute and use the posting and content for publication, advertising, promotion, excerption or example.         In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact.
And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
