Over the years I've been here I've seen this before.
We've had several people who did a lot of research on how to write articles and ads who swooped in, adopted a sock puppet persona, and then proceeded to ask charming questions and allow the main persona to answer charmingly. The main persona also was "very helpful" to others (with each post designed to be an ad.)
They're charming, they know how to write in an interesting manner -- AND they view FIB not as a "place where folks help folks" but as a place where "I help myself to a wide-open pool of customers with no work on my part except for a few posts!"
What I've always liked about FIB is that it wasn't set up as a "fishing pond" for marketers to come in and lure you into spending money on things that may be VERY wrong for you. That's why MaaMaw keeps it clear of ads and "drive-by" postings. Instead we get opinions and advice and help on all sorts of things and nobody tries to tell you that all your problems will be solved by buying this ebook or that course or this product.
It's a shame that this happens, but it does. Thank goodness there's a lot of "due dilligence" on this board and the other business and writing boards that I frequent.
