There are lots of legitimate marketers and entrepreneurs that sell inexpensive items (like Vondre). There are a couple of reasons.
First, a lot of them do want to legitimately help others and offer some of their products at an affordable price.
In other cases, it can be an older product (perhaps one of their first ones) that they sold at a lower price and just never bothered to raise it.
In a lot of cases, a low-cost product will be a lead generator just to get you into their so-called "Marketing Funnel". If you purchase the first product, like it, and the marketer starts building a relationship with you and you start profiting from what you learned, there's a good possibility that you'll want to do business with them again -- and again -- and again... In the end, that $20 e-book could result in the sale of a $1,000 product later on down the line.
Unfortunately, there are some marketers that understand the value of a lead and an e-mail address, but (in my opinion) seem to squander the permission they're given by simply sending a series of e-mails promoting some cheap product. That is not building a relationship; it's wasting a lead. I, too, will unsubcribe from lists like that.
And on the flip side, there is at least one marketer that comes to mind who did treat me right and I ended buying a product that earned him a $500 affiliate commission (and I'm *still* buying stuff from him because it helps me).
