Speaking from 33+ years of postal experience, it is *NOT* a good idea to buy the least expensive list you can find. The reason is that because we live in a mobile society, even newly cleaned lists contain out-of-date info, meaning the addressee has moved. And unless you put an endorsement on the piece of (bulk business mail ~ advertising gold to you, junk to most recipients) mail to get it back, it goes into the recycle bin. (First class letters are forwarded/returned at no additional cost. That is built into the price of the first class stamp. BBM (bulk business mail) costs less to mail because the sender does the sorting ~ the more you sort, the less you pay ~ and there are no "extras" such as forwarding/returning.
Lists that are current are expensive to maintain and are not sold cheaply. Over and over I saw first hand, the cheaper the list, the older the list and the fewer pieces were deliverable. The looks on the faces of the marketers was pitiful.
Find a *quality* list and pay whatever it costs. The end results will be worth it. You will not find out what you need to know from an old outdated inexpensive list.
Trust me.
