InfoUSA is a list from the phone book. They have improved it some over the years, but it is still just a list, nothing special.
A list broker is the way to go. And $ 50 is not bad.
But see where they get their list from. They may be re-selling InfoUsa stuff.
You want a list broker who can provide a list derived from subscribers to a trade publication, or if possible, from several trade publications if you are selling to a business.
Same with retail consumers. Not trade pubs, but special interest mags that cover the field you are marketing to.
And, while it might cost a bit more, you can get just recent subscribers or recent purchasers. This is often a good option. Just using a simple example - a dentist buys his equipment once or twice in a lifetime. When better to sell to dentists then when they just start off and subscribe to Modern Denistry, etc. (Just an example, I don't know if there is such a pub.)
Anyhow, ask where the list came from. Is it from one publication, or several that have been merged and purged to make sure that only subscribers to multiple pubs are included.
You will get hardly any returns this way. The InfoUsa list will always have a lot of undelivers, since they are phone book based.
