I won't argue with the position that MLM compensates their dealers for recruiting/sponsoring/training others to sell for the company. It's a fact. I've been earning over-ride checks since 1993, but that isn't the focus of Kaeser and Blair, Inc.

K & B traces it's roots back to 1894, as Cincinatti Printing. Back in the 1920's, Dutch Kaeser and Bill Blair bought the small printing company and put their name on. They expanded the product line over the years and grew their salesforce, thriving in spite of the Great Depression.

By the 1980's they had totally eliminated all the in-house production and converted to being a distributor for all the other suppliers in the promotional advertising industry. Also during that time period, they recognized that their best source for new dealer referrals was their current sales reps.

They decided to create a program that encouraged and rewarded those dealers who "choose" to recruit and train others. The recruiting is strictly optional, and not tied to some formula that punishes any who choose not to recruit. As of 2005, only about 10% of all K & B dealers have associates who they have recruited. I am one of those who is taking advantage of the dual income stream available.

While K & B's override compensation may fall under the "textbook" definition offered, it is certainly different from mainstream MLM in many respects.

1. We sell the same products available through everyone else in the promotional advertising industry. But, the prices are discounted, not inflated to pay multiple levels of downline.

2. There is no upline/downline creation, as the override payments are strictly on the immediate level of recruiting. So, no dealer is rewarded for recruits that may be added by his associates or any below them.

3. Every dealer has to remain actively selling the products to end users to continue receiving override payments. If I stop selling, the overrides stop.

4. No bonuses or commissions are paid for recruiting. Because the distributor ship is free, 100% of the sign-up would still be zero. So, no one is paid for recruiting. If I hope to earn override commissions, I need to train the new dealer and assist them in starting and growing their business.

Every dealer is on the same commission schedule, receiving 50 to 65% of the profits, regardless of whether or not they recruit.

5. Ninety percent of the dealers are earning generous commissions from direct sales to end users. Many of the top income earners are there by virtue of their personal success in sales.

6. There is no aspect of turning the salesforce into consumers. We don't have to buy the products for our own use. No monthly minimum purchase, no weekly or monthly quotas to meet in order to receive commissions.

7. No front-loading of inventory. The products are designed to be customized with the buyer's imprint - company name/logo/message, so the blank goods remain at the supplier's location until the order is sold.

8. Did I mention that the dealership is free. There is no money to be made by sponsoring every person who comes within a 3-foot circle. Those who take a look and don't like it have no reason to be out $200 to $25,000 for their investigation. Those who send in the $85 deposit to receive the 35-lb. start-up kit, are guaranteed a full refund if the return the kit. So, all they would be out is the cost of return shipping - approximately $10 to $15.

9. Neither Kaeser and Blair nor any of their dealers make money off the "body bag" concept. Dealers who don't sell don't generate income or profits, so there is no advantage to sign up anyone with a pulse.

10. No hype or pressure is needed to sell the products. There is an $18 Billion demand by business and industry in the US. I only have to find buyers who need any of the 800,000 different items, service them properly, and earn their business for life, one order at a time.

Works for me.

NOTICE TO SCUMBEEZLES
(you know who you are... you scream "Foul!" when the truth comes out)
PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT.  It has been done before, but never successfully.  In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace.
NEWS FLASH:  I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday.  I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish.  I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?).  I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!"
Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact.
And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
