Hi All,
I know this may not be the place to post this but I value all of your thoughts. As you may know last May 2005 I had shoulder surgery, Labral Tear, well anyway it did not go very well, as a matter of fact the shoulder is worse now. It now has 4 tears, and recently after 10 months of fighting woth the Dr., 3 2nd opions they also diagnosed me with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. This is affecting my shoulder, arm and right hand. The illness has started to affect the nerves, feels like a match always burning my skin and muscles in my arm jerk and spasm sometimes. I got sick and tired of the Dr. saying this pain is all in your head, go see a shrink, well I have all my marbles...and I guess this is common for Dr.'s to say with this illness. I was wondering if anyone here may know of any support groups, message boards ect that I can turn to for help and support. I have found a few, doing Google and Yahoo searches. This illness has crippled my life in many ways, I'm not looking for your tears, I used to be in medical sales, paramedic and a fire fighter, father of 2 young girls, husband, and provider for my family. Now my wife works, I help around home with the girls, and wear a sling because I can't use my arm. Sorry to go on and bore you....but I'm 32, were having a real hard time with 1 income....SSI disability is up in the courts system right now, with my lawyer, disabilty pay from my old job was stopped May 31st. Anyway like I said, I know there are some great people here who know much more about the web than I .....so any advice would be great.....also tried state assistance route already....wife grosses $64 too much a month in Rhode Island for any help.
