Much as I like and respect Woody, I feel that calling that advertising flyer a hotsheet is a misnomer at best. That is not a typical hotsheet. It is, in fact, an advertising flyer. World of difference if you check the definitions I gave in my previous post.
I can see now why you were confused, MaaMaw. It is true that some hotsheets cross the advertising line too far, just as some ads are a lot like mini-hotsheets (such as many advertorials in newspapers etc).
As one who spent many years selling advertising and printing, I can tell you that an ad is an ad, is an ad...and a hotsheet, while it MAY contain ads, is not an ad, per se.
Hope this helps clarify things a bit.
BTW, Jim is correct on the usage thing BUT I would suggest that, just as spelling changes due to common usage, so do definitions change in much the same way. Perhaps we are seeing an emerging change? Just an idea.
