No, MaaNaw, not quite. The REAL difference that determines whether it's a hot sheet, an ad, or a report is in the depth and breadth of the coverage and the intent behind them. A few comparisons:

A flyer is one page or less, one sided (generally) produced with the intent to get attention and produce action on the part of the reader. It is highly segmented and focused advertising.

A report is multi-paged and generally covers, in some depth, a specific area of a rather broad topic. It is often quite detailed, but not always.

An ad is simply a focused attempt to get someone to take a specific action. It can be any size and format but is usually less than one page.

A hotsheet, is highly focused on a topic. It's usually one or two pages, single or double-sided. The focus is to inform and discuss, not to sell. A hotsheet CAN have advertising included but advertising is not the obvious focus of the hotsheet...information for the reader is.
