Want to work from home. But don't know how to cut through the garbadge.

Hello, I am a 26 year old newly wed who is a total family man at heart. We are expecting our first child. I have a job currently that makes only 25,000/year but has me work 10-11 hours per day. Rent runs about $1000/mo and it's hard pressed to find anything less than that and still have a safe and quiet place to live.

Frankly, I hate my job. It is a dead end job, and I do not like having to work for someone else who holds my livelihood with such cavalier attitude. So, I am looking for a legitimate work from home solution until I am able to get my hot sauce business off the ground through selling initially in the private sector to farmers markets in the local area, and then eventually turn it into an e-business and travel, with my children and my best friend (my wife) to various trade shows around the country. The plan for a successful business is there, but I just need to have working capital to pay for a living first, then gradually build the business on the side.

But with the amount of time this job is taking up, and the very little pay I am getting, I have no time to focus on this business. I have no choice but to work overtime when available to make ends meet and prepare for the baby. I have no choice but to work to live to work, and I hate to think that is going to be the rest of my life. What a waste.

I want to be home with my children! or at least be able to come home at a decent time. I don't buy in to the Modern American way of life where the father has to always be away from home working, or worse, both parents are always away from home working. No, I refuse to have that. So that is why I am planning to start a business that eventually can run itself. But before that, I need to have money to work with.

Is there anything that really exists that I can do to make at least $32,000/year and not have to work ridiculous hours commuting and working? I have a lot of computer IT background, and am a professionally trained culinary arts chef (to back up my sauce business later). Is there anything that will allow me to work at home 8 hours a day, but flexible enough to allow me to be with my family as I need to be?

Please help. I have been searching high and low for an answer and I can't believe how many scam and fishy sounding business/employment "opportunities" there are out there today.

Thank you,
Jay

NOTICE TO SCUMBEEZLES
(you know who you are... you scream "Foul!" when the truth comes out)
PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT.  It has been done before, but never successfully.  In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace.
NEWS FLASH:  I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday.  I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish.  I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?).  I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!"
Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact.
And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
