FIB - Scams 101 - Ye Olde Archives

I Apologize for Doing This, But...

I need a little help before I make any rash decisions. Iím sorry for making yet another thread about eBay because I know eBay has probably been talked into the ground on this message board. I looked in ye olde archives and did pick up some very useful information, but I have specific ďmeĒ questions. Iíve wanted to open my own store on eBay for at least three years now. I have a little money saved up finally (and the marketing degree doesnít hurt), so now I think is a good time to start. I tried to just e-mail Maa Maw to bother just her about it, but my e-mail has been acting screwy lately, so maybe she did not receive my message.

AnyhooÖ I have been buying and selling a little on eBay for a few years now and have the basics of it down. I have a 100% positive feedback (but only about 30 feedback points). For my store, I know exactly what I want to sell because I really think I could make a good profit on it. Iím pretty good with words and have a decent digital camera, so Iíve always had people bidding on my items The only problem is that I have no idea how to locate a wholesaler for the item(s) I want to sellÖactually I donít really know much about that in general. I plan to start out very small, and then work my way up as I start to see profits.

I read Maa Mawís eBay success section and was considering purchasing the program that she mentioned. The only problem with that is that I have become a little leery of spending $200 on the program after the guy who co-wrote it had to file for bankruptcy. I suppose it is possible that he didnít know how to manage his money. But $200 is a lot for me to spend if something is not going to work. Iíve been taken before, as Iím sure most of you have been. If anyone has actually purchased this program, I would really like to know how well it works and if you have made money off of it. Otherwise I might just have to do this from scratch, which is something Iím nervous about because I have a feeling that there will be a loss of my hard-earned money due to poor, uneducated decisions. Any information would be helpful, and Iím sorry again for making everyone read this.

NOTICE TO SCUMBEEZLES
(you know who you are... you scream "Foul!" when the truth comes out)
PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT.  It has been done before, but never successfully.  In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace.
NEWS FLASH:  I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday.  I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish.  I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?).  I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!"
Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

By posting messages and/or content on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, you give permission for Lesley Fountain/Friends In Business/Shoestring Success Publications to display, distribute and use the posting and content for publication, advertising, promotion, excerption or example.         In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact.
And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
