I know that you said many times before that you do not like to display AdSense ads on the forum for the obvious reason that so much of the ads are most likely scams and that would be counter productive for such a site.
However, my thinking is that it might actually help to create more scam/biz opp conversation here on the forum. In other words, visitors see an ad that is appealing or interesting in some way so they click it and visit the site for more info. Then they come back here to inquire about it/discuss it.
It's kinda like it would help in 2 ways. First one being you make income form the clicks and the second one being to help get more talk and therefore content.
You could have a disclaimer close buy warning people that they are not chosen by you and that they should proceed with caution with any of the offers that might appeal to them.
I don't know, I think it might be a neat experiment. If it were up to me, I would definitely try it for at least a month, putting them in an HTML cell off to the side.
The more fresh posts, possibly the more important you will look to Google and other SE's and the more people might give you one-way, inbound links and therefore maybe the more traffic and ad clicks and the more fresh posts and content and on and on and on........
Oh well, just a thought and suggestion from the suffering insomniac. I can never get to sleep when I need to and my mind goes off everywhere except in dreamland. When I don't need to get to sleep I usually fall asleep quite well, though. LOL. It sucks actually.
Just a thought.
Oh well. Better go try to count some sheep or something.
