How many of you use 56K dial up?

Just a little poll...

How many of you still use regular 56K internet and refuse to upgrade to high speed DSL or Broadband?

You see, in my family I am the only one that has cable internet. It is lighting fast and I don't know how people could live without it, however, ALL of my family refuses to upgrade because they think it's "too expensive". Even the people who make a lot of money.

I simply do NOT get it. Here's the deal....

You already pay AOL $24.95 every single month for garbage customer service, frequent busy signals and SLOOOOOOOW internet service. If you could pay an extra $15 to $20 a month of what you're paying AOL, would you if you could...

- Download an entire music CD in less than 5 minutes for around $9.95, which is around $5 less than the store, put it in a blank cd and use it exactly as you would any other cd? this would take about 2 days with AOL service but it takes 15 minutes with high speed.

- Watch video clips of news, music videos etc. Instantly just like you would when watching tv? this would take hours for each clip with AOL service.

- Send video clips via email in a matter of seconds. This would take YEARS with AOL.

OK, So I am exagerating a bit, but I just don't get it...
There are soooo many incredible things you can do with high speed internet.

Why do people love AOL so much when it is such a garbage service??

Everyone that sees what my PC can do with a simple cable connection ($34.95/month) absolutely loves it but never upgrades.

Why are so many people stuck in the neandrethal ages?? When there is so much more out there to make them more productive??

I figured this is the PERFECT place to ask this question. LOL
