The businesses that get kids to do their web development are not a real good market, because they already have expectations of what they are going to pay, which isn't something a self employed adult would work for.
One of the questions you need to ask is what they have paid in the past, and what they are prepared to pay for this work. If someone were to say to me "I don't know where my site is, but I'll pay you $20 to find it an update it" my response would be: "I'm sorry. I can understand the frustration of losing your web developer. However I'm not going to school and can't afford to work at those prices. Additionally, I'm only looking for 5 new clients, and the price issue would indicate we are not a good match for each other."
Some might say "See ya!" but others might say ... "well, just a minute..."
Now they are faced with hiring a competent developer who can solve their problems or perhaps losing the website altogether. The "fear of loss" is a major motivator, and you've just told them that you're only accepting 5 new clients, so if they don't jump on this opportunity now, they may lose it altogether.
Maybe this would get you a few of these clients... I don't know. I had one client hire a student to update his site. Two years later he was back. On top of that I said, "Yes, I can take you back, but you have to understand a couple of things. First I'm very busy, and I don't work at the same price anymore. So you would have to pay the going rate."
This might help a bit, but as previously mentioned, businesses that hire students are not a real viable market.
