Because of the location (tip of my nose) of the main area affected MOHs isn't really an option. From what my doc said the most likely course of treatment will be incision removal followed by a combination of cryogenic and radiological therapies. Once test have confirmed that it's all gone the reconstruction can begin. This many involve taking grafts from other places and basically making a new nose for me. I have asked if perhaps Elizabeth Taylor might be the model from which it is constructed; while feminine I also see it as perky and functional. : ) (Still have that sense of humor)
The MOHs is the treatment of choice for that which they found on my forehead and as a matter of fact they already performed the first course. Because of the appearance of the wound I have earned a new nickname at work; bullethead.
Thanks, everyone, for your concern, your prayers and thoughts, and your assistance. While I don't look forward to all of the treatment I certainly look forward to getting through this mess and being a better person for it. Afterall as they say if it doesn't kill you.....
