One of the best ways to think through something is to strip away all the layers of irrelevant fluff until you get to the "core" or the "beginning."
Therefore:
Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth."
Genesis 1:27 "So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them."
Genesis 2:16-17 "And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day you eat of it you shall surely die."
OK - One Creator, two people. No (human) parents. No "society." One and only one stinkin' rule, and they can't even handle that.
You know what happens next. For the sake of brevity, I won't quote all of Genesis chapter 3, but suffice it to say that the serpent misquoted God and duped Eve into eating the forbidden fruit. She gave some to Adam and he ate it, too.
Now watch this. Talk about blatant finger-pointing!
Genesis 3:11b (God speaking to Adam) "Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?"
Genesis 3:12 Then the man said, "The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree and I ate."
Genesis 3:13 And the Lord God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."
I rest my case. It is never excusable or acceptable behavior, but it most definitely is human nature.
