Agreed but...

In Response To: Actually, I thought it was rather helpful.... (MaaMaw)

Look at that first post:

"We have come across a man who offers half of retail for used money making courses but takes your courses and runs. This guy at the moment goes by the name of Monte and is from Ohio."

I was left asking who "we" are, what programs is this guy targeting, how did he run without paying for an info package, and what does he mean goes by "Monte" at the moment?

True story...

I could post that everyone should beware of a guy in Virginia who is selling electronic items on eBay. He takes your money and doesn't ship or ships really slowly.

This post might alert people to beware of eBay electronics sellers from Virginia but isn't there a potential that some innocent sellers might fall into this category?

All I am getting at is the post was a little too vague to really be a valid warning. I am not making any allegations against "Dan" or trying to make the board unfriendly, please believe me on that one. But as they say information is power and there just isn't enough there to really serve to protect anyone. Unless every single person named Monte in Ohio who is seeking used info products should automatically be a suspect.

Well I guess maybe they could/should be but then again I still don't understand how any info product could be taken. Downloadables aren't available unless the link is provided which usually doesn't occur until the money has been paid and anyone who ships an item without being paid for it first probably deserves whatever outcome occurs anyway because they need to learn proper business tactics.

That guy is Virginia by the way still exist but had to alter his eBay sales tactics. Because I did post a real warning on a few boards that told his eBay ID, the items he liked selling, and the methods he used to keep the Paypal funds. In the end I got my item and he lost his original eBay account. He is now selling under another name and the last time I looked his feedback was once again indicative of a problem but not bad enough so as to get eBay's attention.

Ok, anyhoo....it's late here in Florida and I have to teach some rookie firefighters how to stay out of trouble tomorrow. I have to laugh a little Maw when I think of one method I might use....

"Ok people...listen up. The fire can get really hot so you need to know how to be safe." And then I could end the course, walk out, and get home a whole lot earlier. But then that might be a little vague. : )

You had better laugh at that and not get all flustered up. It's like 1 am here right now and that's the best I could come up with on short notice.

Take care all as usual.
Jim Wilson

NOTICE TO SCUMBEEZLES
(you know who you are... you scream "Foul!" when the truth comes out)
PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT.  It has been done before, but never successfully.  In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace.
NEWS FLASH:  I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday.  I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish.  I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?).  I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!"
Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

Although we may, from time to time, monitor or review discussions, postings and the like on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, we are under no obligation to do so.  We are not responsible or liable for any claim arising from the content of any such discussions or postings or for any error, defamation, libel, slander, omission, falsehood, obscenity, pornography, profanity, danger, or inaccuracy contained in any information contained within such locations on the Site.

By posting messages and/or content on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, you give permission for Lesley Fountain/Friends In Business/Shoestring Success Publications to display, distribute and use the posting and content for publication, advertising, promotion, excerption or example.         In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact.
And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
