I saw this thread and thought I'd weigh in since I purchased Mr. Alms Midas report during the charity promotion. Now I can't speak to whether or not he actually sent a truck to the stricken Gulf Coast or not. Like most of you, I'm in the dark on that issue.
However, I can say that my overall purchasing experience with Mr. Alm has not been what I expected.
It took close to two weeks for me to receive my purchase from Mr. Alm who's in Oregon. I'm in Southern California. I paid via credit card, so the order should have gone out right away. At most it should have taken 5-6 days.
It took close to two weeks for it to arrive. When I finally did receive it, I opened the binder and out fell about a half dozen garlic skins.
Why they were in there I have no idea. The first thing that came to mind was, this is not the most professional.
Also in the binder was a sheet of paper that said sorry for the delay, our computer crashed and all files were lost. We still owe you the rest of the programs and they will be sent to you right away.
Now I have seen many of Mr Alms posts on this and other boards and one thing that he stresses is customer service.
In this instance, I feel he missed the boat with regards to customer service.
If someone has already paid money for something and is expecting it within a certain time frame and there's going to be a delay, the merchant should contact the customer to let them know.
In most cases, the customer will fully understand. I know I would have.
I never received any type of communication from Mr. Alm who has my email address. He also has my physical address.
To date, it's been three weeks since I received the original matrials but I've yet to receive the other materials that I was told would be sent to me right away.
I have emailed Mr. Alm on three occassions and have not heard from him.
The reason I ordered the Midas Report was because I've seen Mr. Alm around this board and others for a long time and have come to trust him and appreciate his responses.
I still beleive in him, but I'm sorely disapointed in my one and only transaction with him.
How does this fit into the thread about the chairity truck? I suppose its just food for thought.
You can come to your own conclusions.

PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT. It has been done before, but never successfully. In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace. NEWS FLASH: I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday. I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish. I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?). I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!" Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures. Although we may, from time to time, monitor or review discussions, postings and the like on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, we are under no obligation to do so. If you cannot accept or agree with the terms of service for this website and discussion board, you are advised not to post on this board. In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact. And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!). |
