TO: SCUMBAGS FAR AND WIDE
Roadie's post has been edited and all identifying information removed.
For you scammers and sleezebucket lawyers who are slobbering all over yourselves waiting to see how I'm going to react:
I did NOT edit out Kareema's personal information because she threatened me with a lawsuit. I am threatened on a regular basis, and my normal response is to suggest a long walk off a short pier. You push it too far and you're liable to end up like the last hapless idiot who actually took it all the way to court (read the Legal Notice at the bottom of the board).
I objected to Kareema being singled out as a spammer at the time it happened, as you can see from my reply .
Had I been on my toes, I would have deleted her contact information at that time because I didn't feel she had done anything wrong. I got sidetracked and forgot about it.
I absolutely do NOT remove threads exposing scummy scammy "opportunities" or "programs," nor do I remove contact information for blatant spammers, so save your breath (and your money).
I did not feel Kareema was either of the above, and I am complying with what I believe is a reasonable request. (I could be wrong, but I believe if she had been either of the above, she would surely have left a link to drive traffic to her site. That was my opinion at the time, and it is my opinion now.)

Although I do not believe you came to this board to spam or lure anyone to your web site (at least initially), I do think you're going off the deep end a bit.
I have enemies all over the net, and I have had some ugly experiences, but I didn't just fall off the turnip truck yesterday. I find it extremely hard to believe that you are getting three prank calls a day and multiple death threats as a result of what happened here.
Not long ago, my contact information was posted by someone who hates my guts. It was read by lots of people who hate my guts (they hang out here because they're always waiting for me to screw up). But you know what? I didn't get a single death threat as a result of that. That's why I find this whole thing just a little far-fetched.
> I am sure my future lawyer would suggest that anyway.
Future lawyer? (That's the other reason I find this a little far-fetched.)
> I am
> sure you could be held accountable in a court of law, once we can find out
> who you are.
Roadie has never attempted to keep his identity secret.
In closing...
I don't think you understand that you are NOT anonymous when you post on a message board. One does not need to be a trained investigator like Roadie to figure out who you are. Anyone with fairly basic knowledge can do it.
If your identity is a secret, it's better to keep quiet.
BTW, I can't help but wonder why you posted your own contact information on a web page (including your address and phone number) (I have a screen shot, which should serve me well in a court of law) and your telephone number on several other web pages (I have screen shots, which should serve me well in a court of law) -- and then come here and tell me all the prank calls are originating from this board. We know this HOW? Because one looney-toon allegedly told you he "read it on FIB"??
Your contact information has been removed from this board, as requested, but it will continue to show on search engines for some time. I have no control over that (but it has plenty of company in the form of other web sites where you yourself made your address and phone number public property).
Forgive me for being testy, but threats really piss me off.
Case closed.
Luv,
MaaMaw

PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT. It has been done before, but never successfully. In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace. NEWS FLASH: I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday. I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish. I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?). I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!" Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures. You are likewise prohibited from posting any false claims against any company or individual. If you cannot accept or agree with the terms of service for this website and discussion board, you are advised not to post on this board. In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact. And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!). |
