I know you just honestly misunderstood what I said here -- plus I very much appreciated your advice and took it to heart the first time around.
My concern about this article being posted here has nothing to do with my first round of copyright questions. I understand all that now and I'm not worrying about it anymore.
But the fact remains, I can't just grab a copyrighted article and plop it here on this bulletin board.
I routinely delete copyrighted articles and email the poster to ask for just a few lines and a link to the rest of the article.
I left this one up and asked about it because I know Sandi is well aware of this, so I thought maybe it came from a source that said "pass it on" -- then she said she got it in her email, so again, maybe it's okay to "pass it on" --
but from just about anyone else, I would have zapped it and sent an email saying, "Just an excerpt and a link, please" (which is what she did the first time but it turned out you had to register to read it).
I may be wrong about this too --
but as far as I know, it is definitely copyright violation to allow copyrighted material to be posted on my board without permission, even if when proper credit is given.
