Many years ago, I was involved with a company called Rainbow (formerly Rexair). They're the ones with the water in the bottom. They offered to pay X amount of money per month for X number of appointments whether you sold anything or not. They too were very strict as to what constituted an appointment. All leads had to be turned in to the company and they set all appointments. You normally would not get the prospects that you turned in. Signatures were required from both husband and wife at the end of the appointment and you had to call the office to get your next appointment. They made sure that you didn't get your X number of appointments for the month. If you didn't sell----you didn't get paid. Well qualified prospects were given to the couple of 'Office Leaders' so they could show the newbies that money could be made.
Guess the scammers don't change much even after over thirty years!!
