In Response To: Is there anything that you won't blast? (Dustin)

Dustin, sincerely, please help me follow your line of reasoning.

You state (see your post below), "I have come to find that online forums are pointless." and yet you continue to type your post here. Then why comment about anything on this board and post the link to your business site if posting here is as pointless as you state.

You also state, "Everyone always listens to the cynics." If that were totally true, many of the regulars here would not have their own successful businesses nor would any visitors to this site (looking for assistance to start their own businesses) start a business if they truly 'listened to the cynics.'

You state, "Nothing is a good oppurtunity because everyone always brings out the bad in it." I am sure that some cynics think this way. Bt please stop and think about what you just said. Are you telling everyone on this board that EVERY business opportunity that you (or anyone of us) has ever looked at should be accepted without a healthy bit of skepticism? I am sure that you don't mean that because I have to believe that you have seen 'biz opps' that have set off flags in your head where they may not be all that they are cracked up to be and therefore you too shared the 'bad' in it that you found with family, friends, and other forum posters. Give people the benefit of the doubt that they too, like you, can best decide what is a 'good' and 'bad' biz opp and can share that info here. Just because someone shares negative info about any business doesn't make them cynics. They may be skeptical of the business and want to be sure people are looking at both sides.

You state, "Seriously though people don't look at anything good anymore and everyone blasts everything." You have to know that this is not accurate. After all, if you are coming here and posting (and I assume posting on other forums) and you are submitting advice to others about what is good or bad, and other people join you in your business, then some people must be looking and some people must not be blasting what you offer. I find it interesting that you would come here and post this and yet include the link to your website if you truly believed the above quote.

You stated, "Go to mlm.com or here." I can understand your frustration and annoyance with mlm.com as the MLM.com site owners posted this about you:

http://www.mlm.com/mlm/user/viewthread?thread=3574

Obviously, they own the board and they have a right to include or exclude anyone on their board for any reason they see fit just like any owner of any forum. But I fail to see your frustration here. There are many people who post here...Direct Marketers, Internet Marketers, and MLM people who offer great advice on what is and isn't a good business idea. You and others may think that certain businesses are good but others have differing opinions and as always, people have a right to their opinion and a right to share it within the parameters of the rules of this (and other) forum(s). Just because people disagree with you OR me, doesn't make their opinions wrong.

I do agree with you (somewhat) when you say, "Chances are you cynics are not successful at anything because nothing is ever good enough..." I have met many cynics in my decades of being in business. Naysayers who truly believed that I could not and would not succeed. They are still cynics and were wrong whereas I am successful in what I do. However, I encourage you not to paint EVERYONE here (or anywhere else) with the cynic brush. There may be a few posters here who try to find fault with EVERYTHING, but only a few. My favorite people to deal with are skeptics (different from cynics). I have learned volumes from them and some of them will confess that they too have learned volumes from me. Healthy feeback (yes, even skepticism :) should be encouraged by every business owner as it keeps you on your toes and helps you learn how to better market to society.

And finally, you end your post with this, "Anyway for once try and tell me something positive that you would do instead of what is wrong with what everyone else is doing." You must also follow your own advice. You posted generalities all through your post insulting many of the readers and regulars here, and then ask that readers give you "...something positive..." As someone once wrote, "Physician...heal thyself!" :) You would get (and deserve) more help if you did not come on this forum and post what you just did. You should have considered starting with what you have learned from this forum (and others) and then ask for help but specifically asked what you were looking for.

I truly wish you good luck in all that you do.

NOTICE TO SCUMBEEZLES
(you know who you are... you scream "Foul!" when the truth comes out)
PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT.  It has been done before, but never successfully.  In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace.
NEWS FLASH:  I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday.  I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish.  I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?).  I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!"
Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

Although we may, from time to time, monitor or review discussions, postings and the like on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, we are under no obligation to do so.  We are not responsible or liable for any claim arising from the content of any such discussions or postings or for any error, defamation, libel, slander, omission, falsehood, obscenity, pornography, profanity, danger, or inaccuracy contained in any information contained within such locations on the Site.
You are prohibited from posting or transmitting any unlawful, threatening, libelous, defamatory, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic, or profane materials or any material that could constitute or encourage conduct that would be considered a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any law.  You are likewise prohibited from posting any false claims against any company or individual.  We will fully cooperate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing us to disclose the identity of anyone posting any such information or materials.
By posting messages and/or content on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, you give permission for Lesley Fountain/Friends In Business/Shoestring Success Publications to display, distribute and use the posting and content for publication, advertising, promotion, excerption or example. You grant Lesley Fountain/Friends In Business/Shoestring Success Publications complete, perpetual, but non-exclusive rights to use, archive, reproduce, adapt, modify, distribute, sub-license, repurpose, rework, compile, or offer for sale or resale the messages, postings or content appearing on this site in whole or in part, throughout the world and universe, on a royalty-free basis without remuneration.  If you cannot accept or agree with the terms of service for this website and discussion board, you are advised not to post on this board.
In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact.
And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
