The Tim... would the phrase "I hate you" sound too junior-high??

In Response To: Daily Dose of Tim - Willful Ignorance or Cat Got Your Tongue? (The Tim)

Why are you re-posting this?

Were you hoping for a fight and you didn't get one??

I read the article you linked.

I took the one sentence that penetrated that cramped little space in my brain where the technical stuff lives, and I put it to good use and did my part for humanity (I quit pinging every time I update my blog), and I shared it with my bloggies (in the hope that my shout would be heard 'round the world):

"websites and bloggers are starting to feel the weight of thousands of hourly pings."

> For the record. Blogging is a form of online JOURNALISM.

And as I understand it, the internet was created (by Al Gore, right?) so that in case of a cataclysmic event, our communications could not be cut off.

Does that mean only the federal government should be allowed to use it?

> as if you guys just discovered yet another POSSIBLE way to
> get rich (quick or otherwise).

You talk down to people, The Tim.

You SPIT on people with your words, and personally, I have no respect for self-righteous a-holes who "relate" that way.

> Because that's what's gonna happen when all you newbs start syndicating
> your favorite bizop spam!

That's going to happen with us or without us, The Tim.

What about people who use blogs responsibly? God forbid, they may not be trained journalists, but they use their blogs as an added feature to their...

> perfectly legitimate ways of doing
> business on the web, with the main one being to buy and host a
> domain (where they) offer a real product at a reasonable price and
> promote it through traditional channels.

Will they carry the guilt for the scammers and spammers jumping on the bandwagon and using blogs to recruit more victims for the latest-and-greatest pyramid scheme?

> I will never purchase a product from a syndicated
> blogger.

Maybe you need to focus your efforts on passing legislation to limit the syndicators -- making sure they're only allowed to syndicate blogs written by people who meet your journalistic criteria -- and leave the rest of us to promote our blogs by more "traditional channels."

I, for one, would have no problem doing that.

Tell me, The Tim... you mentioned "shared diaries."

Is it less offensive to you if your bandwidth is eaten up by diaries such as, "Little Gracie is only 17-1/2 months a week from tomorrow, and today she did her doody on the pottie all by herself!" or "Here are 73 photos of the kids at the Grand Canyon last summer. Enjoy!"....

because there are plenty of those.

You may fancy yourself a journalist, The Tim, and be a regular on the radio, but you don't know how to talk to people with any kind of respect.

You've come so far already...

Think where you could go if you took the time to shut up and learn how to do that.

I'd slap your face with my banana if I had one.

Luv,

MaaMaw

NOTICE TO SCUMBEEZLES
(you know who you are... you scream "Foul!" when the truth comes out)
PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT.  It has been done before, but never successfully.  In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace.
NEWS FLASH:  I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday.  I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish.  I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?).  I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!"
Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

Although we may, from time to time, monitor or review discussions, postings and the like on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, we are under no obligation to do so.  We are not responsible or liable for any claim arising from the content of any such discussions or postings or for any error, defamation, libel, slander, omission, falsehood, obscenity, pornography, profanity, danger, or inaccuracy contained in any information contained within such locations on the Site.
You are prohibited from posting or transmitting any unlawful, threatening, libelous, defamatory, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic, or profane materials or any material that could constitute or encourage conduct that would be considered a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any law.  You are likewise prohibited from posting any false claims against any company or individual.  We will fully cooperate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing us to disclose the identity of anyone posting any such information or materials.
By posting messages and/or content on the Friends In Business (Scams 101) Message Board, you give permission for Lesley Fountain/Friends In Business/Shoestring Success Publications to display, distribute and use the posting and content for publication, advertising, promotion, excerption or example.         In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact.
And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
