And I have to ask "why." I did see someone advertising a job where you supposedly were doing data capture from websites, but the whole thing was suspicious. Why do it manually when a geek with a spiderbot could snag all the info you wanted? Either the company is technically incompetant (and has no one reading up on tech issues) or there's something fishy going on.

There's the fishy bit. Why should you have to pay for a job? If your services are so valuable that they will pay you $1.00 per address (and I'm betting that it's $1.00 per address that's not in their huge tables of addresses purchased from large spamhauses) then that means they are getting an average of $5.00 from every person on the list. And that in itself is fishy.

No kidding. That probably means that it's impossible to find addresses that are worth $1.00 to them. And that the complainers are the ones who are angry enough to gripe instead of to hang their heads (believing that it's THEIR fault) and walk off quietly.
