In Response To: So my next steip is to ck the rop of the lawfirm that represents my territory? (Jennie)

I had not reviewed my membership in awhile so I started digging around and clearing out some old ppl info. This is some more info for you...

Here is their corporate website. You may find some interesting information there that will help you in your research:

www.prepaidlegal.com

-You can find out the different plans they offer for your state by clicking on the 'Legal Plans' link at top left.
-Next page, scroll down to the bottom right and click on 'Plan Information'
-You select your state from the drop down box, (disable pop-up blockers as it will open a new window) and click 'Go'
-You will see what plans are offered in your state. Click on the ones that interest you for a more detailed explanation.

There are 2 family memberships offered for my state that cost $16/month and $26/month. My family also added the 'Legal Shield' rider (cost a buck a month as a rider) where you have access to the lawfirm 24/7 if detained or arrested.

The only difference in the plans is that you start with more pre-trial and trial hours with the $26 membership. The longer you have a membership (either $16 or $26), they add on more pre-trial hours and trial hours. You reach the max hours in the 5th year renewal.

As I travel a lot, it is also nice to know that no matter what state or Canadian providence I am in, they have a lawfirm in the state that will take my call if having a problem.

All the information that I was sent about ppl prior to buying a membership proved to me that they have very good and highly rated lawfirms and must maintain this rating if they want to remain a part of the ppl network. I also remember receiving a questionaire asking me to rate my experiences with the lawfirms. I remember Floyd telling me that if the lawfirms did not have a favorable ratings from the membership owners, ppl asks them to leave. I also just read an email where one of the lawfirms got paid $500,000 in a year from ppl from the memberships of our state. I would figure that as all lawfirms look for 'rain-makers' (those that bring profit to the lawfirm..did you see the movie? ...great movie with Danny Devito and Ben Affleck's friend :) I think that ppl members may carry some weight when it comes to priorities at these lawfirms if they are getting paid that much (just an educated "guess" :) Maybe a good comparison would be if some company paid them half-a-million a year as a retainer...they probably would be catered to as one of the biggest clients don't you think?! :)

Re: business plans
You mentioned your interest in know what is in a business membership. They have them listed there as well....in-home business plans, small biz plans, self employed biz plans and larger biz plans.

One more thing, seems to me that you can take tours of the lawfirms offices. I don't remember if there was a schedule for that but you could check.
Good luck in your research!

NOTICE TO SCUMBEEZLES
(you know who you are... you scream "Foul!" when the truth comes out)
PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT.  It has been done before, but never successfully.  In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor).
If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace.
NEWS FLASH:  I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday.  I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish.  I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?).  I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!"
Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact.
And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid... (AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
