That is correct. It's the constant threat of defamation suits that concern me, and I know Maamaw had an issue with them a while back, but I think she won the case. After legitimately putting the facts together regarding IP addresses, physical locations, phone numbers etc. it seem ludicris that these scammers can continue the threats. Even though it seems that all this legitmate investigation is going on with multiple attorney generals and other offices, they're still recruiting new victims and it absolutley drives me NUTS! They're paying for their attorney's fees by scamming more and more people.
When all is said and done, I want to add to a "how not to be scammed" site, by actually posting the screen capture images that show how these companies morph from one entity to another, detail how to research actual addresses, and bring attention to the most obvious differences between a legit company and non-legit.
So many people are new to the Web and just have no idea how to research. One of the biggest crimes of all is taking advantage of those less fortunate and more trusting.
