Dear Kiddies,

IT'S OVER!!!

We were officially canned on Monday, and I am officially NOT TYPING ANYMORE!! (Well, I do have one 20-year-client I brought with me when I moved, but I go for months without hearing from him, then it's just a report or two, so I am, after 24 years, officially ****FREE!!!!!!*****)

OH GLORY!!

OH RAPTURE!!

Okay, first things first. (I should tell you, except for two house payments, I have NO money, NO savings, and I'm having more fun than any one person should be allowed to have!! I'm so excited to be doing this stuff *without* *guilt* that I can hardly hit the keys.)

Anyhoo... back to business.

I'm going with "Destiny" (my adoption book).

Except for redoing the covers (which were really remarkably tasteful for someone with absolutely no talent until I tried to "fix" something and totally screwed them up last night), it's ready to go.

I've checked the contract for the clip art, and I can *definitely* use it in a book -- and of course I dug up my old emails officially confirming that permission. I know, as you said Mel, that it's conceivable an artist might come after me down the road somewhere and that sends chills down my spine, but I'm going to go for it anyway and hope the clip-art people didn't lie to me.

The new ending turned out great:

but that is neither here nor there.

I'm selling it "onsies" -- but my focus is going to be on adoption lawyers.

If you're still awake after taking the usual long-road-to-the-point, would anyone who knows about this stuff be so kind as to critique my sales letter?

I've worked my hiney off on it, and I think I've covered all the "should's" and "shouldn'ts" --

GOD I LOVE THIS STUFF!!! It's hard to imagine I could actually get PAID for having such fun!!

Here it is.... but first, KEY POINT -- this is the letter going only to ADOPTION PROFESSIONALS (mainly lawyers unless I think of someone else) -- I haven't even thought about a sales letter for individuals (i.e., the end-users) of the book yet.

This is an afterthought a few hours later -- there was some confusion about what this book is (is it a "how-to-adopt book?" etc.). I put it back up on the net here for the next couple of days while I decide if I need to scrap the whole "lawyer" project or not. Thanx!! (BTW, the PASSWORD is boardbuddy)
