A nut case huh? Well, you would get no argument on that from my wife, and she doesn't even care about my website! :-)

I'm so completely and utterly disgusted with SPAM, I could just scream! Right now, my web hosting account is setup to deep-six any message that is not routable. In other words, if I don't specifically have a POP account, alias, or forwarder setup, the message gets dumped and I never see it. This eliminates all the nasty spammers who send email to 1@mauder.com, 2@mauder.com, 3@mauder.com, 123@mauder.com, etc, etc, etc....

Anyway, one day I decided to turn off my deep-six rule to see what happened... Within 10 minutes, email had COMPLETELY filled my 500 MB mailbox and shut down my website. I had to work with support to get it back up and running. Do you realize, that had to be THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of messages within minutes!

So, even with my deep-six thing in place, I still get several hundred spam messages sent to my valid email addresses. I've tried so many different spam services and/or software, and none of them work very well. MailWasher always crashed my system, so I got a refund on that...

How does Pegasus help with your spam problem? Isn't that just a free email client?

Thanks for the encouragement by the way... I'm surprised and honored to be considered a "fixture" in your mind. However, my website has sputtered around for what seems like years and hasn't really become anything I'm proud of yet. I think a short sebatical might be what I need to get clear on my goals and decide what direction I really want to take things online. I'm one of those people who have tried just about everything online (it seems) and still haven't found the money making secret that so many claim to have. "Just send $39.95 and my instantly downloadable ebook with teach you the secret to online riches!!!!" Yeah, right! :-) Maybe that's my problem anyway...I probably have adult ADD because I never focus on any one thing long enough to MAKE it successful.

Well, thanks for letting my post stay, and I really hope it does some good. If my website can help raise even a small amount of money for the disaster victims, I will be a happy camper!
