Hehehe.. nor do they try to get you to buy a couple thousand bucks of product at a time to get to the next bonus level, either.

The problem lies in companies and distributors that use hype and smoke and mirrors ...but the thing is, as P.T. Barnum said, "There's a sucker born every minute" and I think it's distributors and companies out there that rely on these suckers to join up for their next latest, greatest deal. So many companies come and go these days, it's hard to keep up with all of them.

What I find disturbing is these people that sign up "because it sounded great!" and then afterward, THEN they do some research, when they go to promote this hype and nonsense that some company or some rep told them--and everyone flames them, and they don't understand why. It seems to me that if you join a home business of any sort, regardless of whether or not someone swears to you, "There's NO risk!" there IS risk--and here's what you risk:

1. Your time. You risk spending countless hours promoting some bullcrap that some independent rep put up on their site that simply isn't true, or is questionable under the FTC laws

2. You risk your money. Many of these companies don't have a small start up fee--a lot of them want you to come in with LOTS of money (Miss Kimberly made a crack at me on another board saying I must not make very much money because I thought that 1200.00 to join a company was absurd---GEEZ--)

3. You risk your reputation. Once you've promoted a scam, and it turns OUT to be a scam, people aren't as willing to believe you when the NEXT latest, greatest comes along.

It's best to do your research beforehand, realize that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is, and to realize that your reputation IS important if you plan on doing a successful home business--much too important to risk.
