That's simply not true, and I'm sure you know that in your heart of hearts. Understand that it's not MLM that's all wrong--it's the actions of certain people that have gotten into this industry that have given you that impression, but rest assured--it's not all like that. Avon is a very well-known company, been around for over 100 years, and they're an MLM. Watkins is another well-known, well respected company that is also MLM. Not all of them are bad. PEOPLE can always mess up a good thing... it doesn't matter what industry it is.
There have been companies that have had bad people in them that have given the whole industry a black eye, but the industry as a whole isn't bad.. it's just certain people who have worked this industry unethically.
I have been doing MLM now for nearly five years. I'm not rich from it (but it pays my bills). I don't ever drag people off to opportunity meetings, don't ever suggest that people buy a ton of products they neither need or want, and I have a great support system of people who have taught me to do business ethically and honestly. Not all MLMs are bad. That's like saying if you got a bad burger at a burger joint that ALL burger joints are inherently bad.
I'm proud of the fact that I represent a company that has such rich history, and generations of people that love our products...that people often seek me out to get these products...and that I don't have to lie, cheat or steal to succeed at it.

Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.
